(by Jon-Michael Reed)

Wally and Harriet returned Bonnie to Devon who now insists she’ll keep the child.  Mark blamed Paul when Ellen called off marriage plans.  Phil arrested Billy Clyde, who was put behind bars for his threatening antics against Benny and Estelle.  Betsy Kennicott, Dan’s sister, arrived in town.  Brooke apologized to Mark for trying to seduce him, but she wasn’t really sorry.  Chuck was released from the hospital and is under Donna’s care.  Phoebe ranted that she’ll expose Charles and Mona’s “sin.” Caroline caught Nancy and Frank arguing about the reasons for their busted marriage.  Brooke seduced a drunken Mark after Ellen gave him a reluctant heave-ho.  A shady pal of Eddie’s, Langley Wallingford, arrived in town looking for a mark.  Kelly dealt with Lettie Jean for pep pills.  Eddie managed the Chateau while Claudette visited her ailing Ma on her banana plantation.  Estelle and Benny headed for the altar.  Nancy went to see a patient in a seedy section of town and encountered trouble.  Erica joined Phoebe’s rage at Mona and Charles, who resolved not to allow threats to ruin their innocent love.  Paul offered his shoulder to Ellen.  Nancy underwent surgery after being mugged, but asked Frank to care for Carl if she doesn’t survive.  Linc halted Benny and Estelle’s wedding because her divorce isn’t legal.  Devon asked Wally to marry her.  Mona resigned from her job with Charles after Phoebe’s threats to spread scandal to the hospital board.  Langley eyed Edna’s and Phoebe’s bank accounts.  Myrtle learned about Kelly’s pill habit.  Nancy survived the surgery, but the near tragedy made Frank realize he still cares for her.  Wally’s parents opposed his marriage to Devon.  Charles had a showdown with Phoebe for blackmailing Mona, who resumed her job after Charles called Phoebe’s bluff.  Edna zeroed in on Benny, got the cold shoulder from Estelle because of the marriage fiasco.  Phil, Charlie, and Tara vacationed and Phil was offered a government job. Caroline wrote Frank a goodbye letter after noticing his concern for Nancy.

Wally and a healthy baby Bonnie return home; Devon decides to keep and rear her baby. With their father remarried, Dan’s sister, Betsy, comes to Pine Valley. With Billy Clyde in jail, Estelle feels guilty for having been the cause of his terrorizing everyone. Claudette’s mother, Margo, in a car accident in Costa Rica, is forcing Claudette to leave the Chateau in Eddie’s care. Learning an important critic is in the audience, Kelly takes uppers one more time. Joe is upset by Jeff’s decision to remain in San Francisco, but realizes it’s the only way he can save his marriage to Christina.

Having broken off her engagement to Mark, Ellen asks Paul for a shoulder to lean on, and he obliges. With a lot of shoving from Brooke, Mark finds himself in bed with her. Feeling she may have caused Ellen’s break with Mark, Devon reconsiders her decision to raise Bonnie alone. Letty Jean is Kelly’s latest pill connection. At the altar with Benny, Estelle is warned by Linc that Billy Clyde is going to charger her with bigamy if she weds. Nancy is mugged while out on a social service assignment. A distinguished-looking con, Langley Wallingford, artist arrives in town posing as a professor.

After making love with Brooke, a hung-over Mark throws her out of his apartment, but she plans to keep trying. Linc interrupts Estelle and Benny’s wedding, insisting she is running risk of bigamy action. Devastated, Estelle tells Benny she never wants to see him again and goes to stay with Donna and Chuck. Nancy faces risky surgery for the skull fracture she suffered in the mugging and she asks Frank to raise Carl if she should die. Feeling responsible for her mother’s break-up with Mark, Devon tells Wally she wants to marry him.

Tara, Philip and Charlie enjoy vacation until a mysterious government official offers Phil a highly confidential assignment. Edna is learning to forget Benny with the help of Langley Wallingford, who is only interested in her money. Ellen is aghast at Devon’s decision to wed Wally. Despite attempts by Wally’s parents to stop the wedding, Devon and Wally are married. With Nancy out of danger, Caroline writes a good-bye note to Frank and tells him baby Carl is his son. Charles warns Phoebe he will have her arrested for theft unless she returns prints and negatives of his trip to Rome. When she does, Mona comes back to work. Kelly’s dependency on amphetamines comes to light for everyone.

One Life to Live

(by Jon-Michael Reed)

Dorian turned on Pat viciously, blaming her for Dorian and Paul’s breakup.  Brad went “gambling debt crazy” and got violent with Gwen while begging for a loan.  Tina comforted Greg over his hang-ups that his father murdered Marco.  Carla told Jack she won’t be seen with him, even though she and Ed have split.  Larry refused Karen’s offer of a no-contest divorce, then she received a call from someone claiming to be Brian Kendall.  Dick gave Pat a scare by toting a gun which he insisted was a studio prop.  Viki and Joe argued about Karen’s secrets from Larry.  Brad paid off a gambling debt to Brick by giving drug thieves a copy of Jenny’s hospital key.  The thieves critically wounded Jack.  Jenny learned she’s pregnant, which put a damper on Peter’s renewed interest in her.  Pat and Gretel comforted Adam when his company started going down the tubes.  Dorian pushed Herb Callison to secure a seat on the board.  Dick was Karen’s anonymous tormentor because he wants to settle the score for Pat regarding Karen’s involvement in Brian’s death.  Carla rushed lovingly to Jack’s side, while Ed donated blood.  Dorian suspected Mario isn’t who he claims to be.  Faith Kipling arrived, and reminded Danny and Viki of Meredith, Larry’s deceased wife.  Dick learned about Adam’s medication.  Jack called in another surgeon instead of Ivan for Jack’s surgery.  Jack told Carla he won’t want her if he’s crippled.  Gretel told Paul he reminds her of her former husband, Carl.  Edwina insisted she doesn’t want a backstreet affair with Herb.  Dorian buttered up board member Dr. Alexandra Fanning to place Herb on the board. Samantha was depressed after convincing Tony to sleep with her before marriage, during which he uttered Pat’s name.  Karen refused Larry’s financial support.  Dorian set her sights on Adam, after setting up a business deal with him while he’s in financial straits.  Adam lied to Pat about his illness, then had a reaction to Dick’s medication switch.  Joe worried about Tina’s friendship with Mario, who got a license to practice medicine in Llanview.

Still angry at Karen, Anna realizes Larry is not blameless and softens a bit. Mario works at becoming Karen's friend. Desperate for money to repay his gambling debt, Brad sells the key to the hospital medicine cabinet to his creditor. When Edwina suggests she and Karen write a book, "From Housewife to Hooker," Karen has Mario throw her out. Finding a photo of Adam, Dick tacks it on the wall and uses it for target practice. Overhearing Dorian plotting to get Larry out as chief of staff, a shaken Paul tells her he is through with her. Unable to comprehend Pauls's motives, Dorian feels he is trying to get back with Pat. Gretel admits to Adam she has fallen for Paul. Samantha and Tony are making wedding plans. Jack tells Adam he wants to marry Carla but she can't make up her mind between him and her husband Ed. Dick calls Karen pretending to be the dead Brian Kendall. With Richard suffering from mononucleosis, Gwen goes off to Europe to nurse him.

His business nearly destroyed, Adam is preparing takeover of an Alaskan oil company. Jack is shot when he surprises men using the key supplied by Brad to steal drugs from a hospital cabinet. Ed asks Carla for a divorce; upset by Jack's injury, Carla admits she loves him. Brad swears never to gamble again. Karen testifies in Talbot's murder trial. Depressed, Greg warns Tina not to be friends with Mario. Edwina writes a scandal story about Karen's life as a hooker and housewife. Peter's dream of a life with Jenny is shattered when she announces she is pregnant by her husband Brad.

Upset by Ivan's brash manner and ill treatment of his interns, Jack refuses to let Ivan perform surgery on him. Dorian's attempt to oust Larry as chief of staff is aborted when the Colonel votes against restructuring of the hospital. Jenny is not certain she's happy about being pregnant. Tina feels Greg is pushing her away. Ivan's fragile wife Faith comes to Llanview and befriends Danny. Dick substitutes aspirin for Adam's medication. Discovering that the date she is to wed Tony is the same as the one he married Cathy on, Samantha postpones the wedding. Surgery leaves Jack paralyzed — it may be temporary or permanent. Ivan nixes Faith's desire to have children.

In need of money to save his company, Adam asks Dorian to be his partner. She wants to say yes and make it more than a business partnership. Jenny is upset over her negative feelings about being pregnant. When Tina volunteers at the free clinic, Joe is upset because it will bring her into relationship with Mario. Karen's attempt to make up with Larry fails. On the eve of their wedding, Tony and Samantha decide to consummate their love, but just as he is drifting off to sleep he calls out Pat's name. Adam suffers an attack; he takes medication but gets no relief.

General Hospital

(by Jon-Michael Reed)

Susan tipped off Jeff about Heather’s birth control pills and Gina was forced to admit they were prescribed because Heather can’t run the risk of bearing another child.  The probation judge dropped charges against Laura after Rick forced a bar witness to admit he lied.  Bobbie snuggled up to Roy in gratitude.  Steve blew up at Audrey for telling Jeff about his paternity and Audrey went to Utah with Tommy.  Gina was shocked to learn that Gary’s book is about how to lose weight through an active sexual life.  Heather was stymied in her scare tactics for Diana when Peter changed their phone number to an unlisted number.  Spence Andrews, one of Lesley’s group therapy members, ingratiated himself in her life by bringing his son to her for treatment. Rick went into an emotional tailspin after learning of Jeff’s parentage.  Edward had an attack after refusing to loan Tracy money to finance Mitch’s campaign.  Susan encouraged Larry Joe suggesting he and Heather are ideal for each other.  Jessie caught Bobbie admitting she’d do anything to get what she wanted.  Heather resumed harassing Diana anonymously, but Susan noted that Heather’s on the phone a lot lately.  Rick admitted he’s opposed to Laura and Scotty’s marriage.  Gina found Tracy in Gary’s arms, but they were celebrating his book’s upcoming publication.  Monica had guilt nightmares. Steve and Audrey reconciled.  Rick alienated everyone, while Jeff cooled down about his parentage revelation.  Monica admitted spending the night with Rick to Scotty and Laura, but was interrupted before she could tell that nothing happened.  Tracy worked overtime to uncover Rick and Monica’s secret.  Bryan warned Laura she’s pushing Scotty into marriage too soon.  Heather plotted to get rid of P.J.’s baby sitter, Maggie, so that Diana will be defenseless.  Tracy was stymied making a scene about Monica and Rick at Alan’s party for Lee and Gail.  Later, Mitch dropped her in favor of Susan.  Dorrie asked Howard to move in with her.  Monica assured Scotty that nothing happened with Rick.  Rick was haunted by memories of his mother living a lie about Jeff’s parentage.  Rick stormed out of a board meeting after Alan jumped on him for doing lousy reports.  Tracy confided in Gary about Mitch’s rejection.

(by Nancy Reichardt)

Jeff tells Heather he is Steve's son; instead of feeling sympathy for his confusion, she is elated. Steve puts Jeff on report for leaving the hospital without permission. Lee is to become Jeremy's legal guardian. Gail and Lee plan to marry. Alan warns Tracy to quit pushing Mitch's political career down everyone's throat, else he'll run for office himself. The judge decides not to send Laura to reform school. Gina informs Jeff that Heather can never risk having a baby.

Rick is stunned when Jeff tells him Steve Hardy — not Lars Weber — is Jeff's father. Overhearing Luke and Bobbie, Jessie realized the trick they played on Laura. Dan persuades Jessie to give Bobbie one more chance. Anne wants to adopt Jeremy. Tracy warns Monica she's going to try to catch her with Rick and then tell Alan. Heather realizes Susan told Jeff about taking birth control pills and vows to get even. During an argument with Tracy about her inheritance, her father suffers an angina attack. Rick vetoes Scotty and Laura's June wedding plans.

Jeff and Steve try to work at being loving father and son. Rick, still stunned by revelation of Jeffs paternity, admits to Monica he wants to find solace in her arms. Discovering his father had an angina attack while Tracy and Mitch were talking to him, Alan plans to get to the bottom of it. Tracy gets her father to lie about the subject of converstation when he had the attack. Audrey returns from her sister Lucille's; Steve forgives her for telling Jeff the truth. Still trying to drive Diana mad, Heather has Larry Joe call Diana and ask about P.J., mixes up the medication to make it look as if Diana has made a mistake, and warns Diana that Maggie is an unfit nursemaid for P.J.

Tracy overhears Scotty and Laura discuss the night Rick and Monica spent together; she urges Mitch to check the time each left the hospital after the quarantine was lifted. Mitch takes Susan to bed. Heather wants to adopt Jeremy so she can gain control of his custody trust fund. Bobbie is still hoping to get Laura in trouble but her brother Luke warns her to lay off. Rick is unable to accept the fact of Jeff’s illegitimacy. Gary keeps making snide remarks about Howard's feelings for Gina.

Roy calls and tells Bobbie that the Bartender says he thinks the Judge believes his story about Laura.
Scotty calls Gail as he waits for Laura’s meeting with Judge Stalman to finish.
Laura tries to explain her actions to Judge Stalman.
Judge Stalman is concerned about Laura still not trusting her Parents.
Laura flips out saying she “knows” they don’t believe her and that they should just go ahead and send her to Reform School.
Bobbie goes to the Bar and celebrates with Roy.
Roy tells Bobbie he knows it was her, not Luke, that he was doing all this for.
Bobbie says she and Roy are going to be very good friends.
Judge Stalman tells Mitch that if he decides Laura is lying he will have no choice but to send her to a State Institution for a “full term based on the original charges”.
Stalman tells Mitch that he was going to drop those charges against Laura “today” and she would have been a totally free woman, but now that can’t happen.
Tracy tells Monica she is “deadly” serious about marrying Mitch Williams.
Scotty tries to comfort Laura as they await the Judge’s decision.
Rick suddenly gets an idea to show Laura that “honesty does pay off” and takes off.
Roy and Bobbie come to see Luke and tell him about their “good news”.
Luke doesn't seem too happy about their “good news” (Bobbie brings up Luke feeling sorry for Laura).
Peter and Diana discuss the strange phone calls Diana keeps getting (It’s really Heather).
Scotty tells Laura they have to never keep secrets from each other.
Laura tells Scotty that she knows it was Monica that Rick spent the night with after the quarantine.
Rick tries to convince Mr Proctor to tell the truth about Laura in the Bar.
Laura and Lesley go in to hear the Judge’s decision (Rick still isn’t back yet).
Peter and Diana have their phone number changed.
Heather thinks that the news that Steve is Jeff’s father is good news (Jeff disagrees).
Laura and family wait to hear the Judge’s decision (Rick has brought Proctor in to see the Judge).
The Judge now knows that Laura has been telling the truth (Thanks to Mr Proctor).
The Judge was going to send Laura to a state institution, but after seeing Mr Proctor he has now decided to extend her probation for an additional period of 6 months... but suspends her curfew and reduces her required psychiatric sessions to twice a week... Mr Higgens will continue to report to him during that time.
Laura tells Scotty “You have to find a way to marry me and get me out of that jail I’m living in! I’m never really gonna be free until you do. Please, Scotty, please find a way”.
Jeff tells Heather he can’t tell Rick the truth about Steve... it would destroy him.
Cal Jamison calls Heather and offers to give her his info on Stevn Lars for $5,000 (H says no way).
Heather says she’ll send him half the money now and the the rest after she gets the info.
Jamison says he’ll think about it.
